Our Team is a year-round, competitive, Learn-to-Swim and Masters Club offering the best professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. We've been doing it very successfully since 1972 and our track record is exceptional. Our goal is to provide every member with the opportunity to be his/her best, from novice swimmers to international competitors.
Our Coaching staff, members of USA Swimming and the American Swimming Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the Unites States. In addition, they have the experience of two-time USA Award of Excellence Coach, and Canadian and American Olympic Trials Coach, Marc Solomon, as well as National Qualifier, New England champion and experienced Coach, Ron ZuWallack. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time. Five members of our coaching staff have been swimmers and/or Coaches with the club for 25 years or more, attesting to their devotion to the mission of the club. CCSC Head Coach, Ron ZuWallack, was a CCSC Champion of the 1980s-90s, and former head coach and now director, Marc Solomon, was Head Coach in 1972.
Our Learn-to-Swim program is run by Adrienne Fontes, a professional elementary school teacher who was a CCSC swimmer in the 1980s. We introduce children to swimming at age five and have one day per week and two day per week programs. Our experienced LTS staff has developed exceptional techniques for teaching young children in a way that will last for a lifetime. For children interested in competitive swimming, our LTS program makes for a smooth transition to the beginning swimming team.
We take a long range holistic approach to your child's athletic career. We strive to make the club affordable, accommodating, and healthy for your child. And we say with pride, based on our track record, that we offer exceptional training and coaching. When a young child joins our club, we build and foster a relationship between parents, coaches and athletes that lasts through adolescence, and often, a lifetime. We dedicate time and energy to a young swimmer providing them with life-long skills as part of our process of building swimmers, a process which contributes to growth in other facets of life. In learning to love the process, every child becomes a "winner" in the CCSC.
